Andersson's Kitchen is a home-based bakery in Northern Virginia, specializing in gluten free deliciousness. We take great pride in our goodies and have spent many hours writing and researching recipes to bring the very best tasting products to you, that just happen to be gluten free.Please browse our website and feel free to find us on facebook and twitter as well.Our hope is that you will find our products delicious, whether you are gluten free or not, and tell others!Thanks!

With many requests for savory bread, we decided to get back in the kitchen and do some research. We have four loaves that we feel confident in and are available. Please view the menu to see all items we offer!

Please be advised that while we only offer gluten free items, we do not have a gluten free home. Please consult your doctor if you have any questions or concerns about our products.

We use dairy, eggs, soy and nuts in various recipes and in our facility.

Frequently Asked Questions

1) What is gluten free?Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, rye and some oats. To be gluten free is to eat foods without the gluten protein in the food. So in essence, we bake with other flours like rice, brown rice, sweet rice, tapioca starch, corn starch etc. 2) Do you bake items that are not gluten free? No - For those who are not gluten free, we invite you to purchase our delicious treats, but we do not bake with any flour that is not gluten free because of cross-contamination issues.3) Do you offer other allergen free friendly items? We are currently researching ways to make our gluten free items dairy, egg and soy free, while maintaining the integrity of the taste and texture of our gluten free products. We are striving to make all of our products delicious, no matter what diet you are on.4) Do you create custom cakes? At this time, we do not. We hope in the future to offer this service though.5) Is your kitchen certified gluten free?Unfortunately no. We do want our customers to know that we do not have a gluten free home. We have separate baking supplies and take every means possible to avoid cross contamination, but there is always a chance. Please consult with your doctor if you have any concerns about purchasing our items.6) Why do orders need to be made 24 hours in advance? Due to the nature of gluten free items, to guarantee fresh baked goods to you at the best taste possible, we do not carry an inventory of our products in our home. Every order filled, in essence, is catered to you!7) Do you plan on getting a storefront? Yes! We would love to open a storefront and hope that with enough word of mouth regarding our products, we will get there sooner rather then later. We have other exciting ideas, including an entirely gluten free restaurant, so we need to work all these items out. In the meantime, we wanted to make our products available.8) Do you ship? It depends on what you are ordering! We are working on solutions to get all of our products shippable.9) Do you deliver? We do, but for a fee and a minimum order of $50.00. Our delivery charge is based on the mileage from our place to yours.10) Can we find your products in grocery stores?We are looking into these options currently, but not at this time.11) Do you offer other products? We are definitely going to offer more products. Think pumpkin bread, lemon poppyseed muffins, chocolate cake rolls, etc.***Please be advised that we use dairy, eggs, soy and nuts in our products. ***
About Us

About Us

Our family likes to eat. Every birthday, holiday, summer weekends etc., we like to get together and eat good food. When our niece was born nine years ago, and was later diagnosed with gluten intolerance, our eating habits had to change when coming together as a family. After her diagnosis, others in the family were also diagnosed with gluten intolerance or celiac disease. Did that stop us from enjoying good food? No! We took on the challenge of preparing delicious food that was also gluten free.With so many people getting diagnosed with either gluten intolerance or celiac disease, we felt that we had something to offer this community of people who probably like to eat too and are a bit distraught or confused as to what they can eat. We have focused on making our products mimic foods with gluten in them, especially taste and texture, so when you sink your teeth into one of our cupcakes or cookies, you can't even tell it is gluten free. Because, after all, we enjoy eating, and sometimes gluten free foods are not very good. We hope you enjoy our products and tell others about us!
